Known for its ever changing lineup of chefs, Carousel invites Relative Distance to showcase Phase as part of their ten year anniversary celebrations. Representing constant change, innovation and renewal, Phase will be ‘resident’ at the Fitzrovia restaurant for a complete lunar cycle, illuminating over 28 days and four chefs’ residencies. Both a clock and a light, Phase mirrors the moon’s progress in real time. Every day, Phase will be in a new lunar phase, offering a unique experience for diners. Each element of the design has been meticulously conceived to render as life-like a representation of the Moon as possible. We developed precision optics to accurately emulate the soft glow of Moonlight, creating an ambient light that performs well, both in daylight and the atmospheric low light of the restaurant.
