Roland and Dev in conversation in front of crescent-shaped-brick-wall

Speaking with Jo has been a fantastic opportunity for us to articulate how we take inspiration from the vast scale of the universe and translate this into collectible design objects. The studio’s practice explores how we encode relationships and the ‘relative distance’ that we are trying to explore. Modes and means of measurements are a way for us to better understand the world around us and form the basis of our creative practice.

We talk about our fascination with space and sheer scale and distances involved. When it comes to creating ‘Phase,’ how do you recreate the feeling of having a relationship with a thing that is so close to us in folklore and our collective consciousness, but is so incredibly far away?
